The 3 days Rwanda Chimpanzee trekking safari tour in Nyungwe forest is a trip we offer for primate lovers to Nyungwe forest national park. The tour includes transport from Kigali city to Nyungwe with lunch and stopover on the way. Spend the first night in the park; all meals are included on full board. The second day in the morning you will be taken on a guided walk to explore jungle to see chimpanzee and black and white colobus monkeys, birds and plants. In the afternoon of the second day, you will do the canopy walk and the third day which is the last, head back to Kigali. For if you love to stay more nights, we take you to any other destination.
Detailed itinerary of 3 days Rwanda Chimpanzee trekking safari tour
Day 1: transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe forest
Your guide shall pick you up from your hotel or Kigali international airport and bring you to your lodge in Nyungwe Forest national park. There will be a stopover along the way for a cultural tour of Butare museum and king’s palace and a snack. Make your way to the park later. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe forets lodge/ Gisakura guest house/ Nyungwe Top view lodge
Day 2: chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
The chimpanzee tracking starts with a briefing at the visitor center. The chimp walk will let you spend 1 observing and taking photos of with chimpanzees. As you hike through the rainforest, your Rwandan development board guide will point out other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys.
In the afternoon, go for the canopy walk. Take a short walk to the first platform where your guides will help you to climb the bridges. walking in the top of the trees is really unique activity in Rwanda. it wil let you admire the landscape of Nyungwe and observe primates and birds. Return back for dinner and overnight
Day 3: transfer back to Kigali
07:00am breakfast at the lodge. A nature can be done to explore the Kamiranzovu waterfalls taking 3-4 hours. after you will transfer back to Kigali. End of safari.
