Generally, Kibale Forest National Park was established as a national park in 1994 and covers an area of about 795 square kilometers, standing at 1,590 meters above sea level with the lowest point of 1,100meter on the floor of the Albertine Rift Valley to the south of the park. More then, the forest contains more than 380 species of birds such as; White-napped pigeon, Cassin’s spine tail, Green-breasted pitta, Abyssinian ground thrush, Little greenbul, Brown-chested alethe, Yellow-breasted Apalis, Double-toothed Barbet, Black-billed Barbet, Yellow- Billed Barbet, Papyrus Canary, and Yellow–spotted Nicator many more.
