In Rwanda, 12 gorilla families have been fully habituated including the Susa A, Agashya while in the D.R. Congo, Virunga NP has 8 habituated gorilla groups.

The most preferred or what is considered the best time for gorilla trekking is the dry season and this takes place twice a year. Visiting mountain gorillas during the two dry seasons allows you to have a trek less of stress because the trails are kept drier due to limited or no rains. The steep slopes remain drier with vegetation clear making it easier to capture pictures of gorillas in the wild.
Regardless of some challenges, tracking gorillas can also be done during the wet or rainy season. This is also regarded as the low or off season, and begins from March, April, May & October, November. The advantage the wet or rainy season has over the dry season is that gorillas have abundant food supply and can take fewer hours to locate them.

Today you will enjoy your breakfast amidst the jungle for the last time before heading to Kisoro Airstrip to catch your flight to Entebbe International Airport and later your connecting flight to Zanzibar or you may transfer by road to Kigali City which is 4 Hours’ drive away and later to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar. Late in the evening you will arrive in Zanzibar and a representative from your hotel will welcome you to the Spice Island before transferring you to the hotel. Tonight you start your 5 nights’ island stay enough to rest and recuperate on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Dinner and Overnight

Day 5-9: Full day relaxation on the white sandy beaches
The days ahead are so much more relaxed and how you spend your time on the island depends on how you feel everyday of your stay. You can go for complete rest which includes reading your book or swimming in the pool and a massage in the spa or continue the adventure and exploration underwater with optional activities like snorkeling or diving, swimming with tortoises, Quad biking or going on a nature walk. Cultural experience lovers may take an optional day trip to Stone Town, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Zanzibar City.

Day 10: End of the Gorilla Trekking and Zanzibar Holiday
