8 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National park
You will begin your 8 days Uganda safari in Kampala, Uganda’s capital. Set off in the morning with your guide driving to Murchison Falls National Park. En-route there are two activities; the first one is guided rhino tracking on foot at ziwa rhino sanctuary, home to 25 white rhinos. After enjoying rhino tracking and lunch, you will head towards the park and visit top of Murchison the strongest waterfall. It is famous for its powerful plunges over 40 meter s cliff and breathtaking scenery of river Nile, the longest in the world. From there you drive to your lodge in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and River Nile boat cruise
A game drive in the early morning hours takes you through Murchison falls along the Nile-Albert wetland to see elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, giraffes, lion, forest hogs and if you are luck a leopard. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go on a boat cruise where you can relax seeing hippos, crocodiles, water birds and get a view of the devil’s caldron.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
After breakfast, you will take a 6-7 hours transfer from Murchison to Kibale forest national park. The journey goes through Albertine rift valley landscape via Fort portal town where you stop for lunch en-route. From there you drive around fort portal crater lakes before checking in at your lodge to rest for the next day’s chimp tracking. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You wake up early first for breakfast and before 07:30 be at the visitor center to meet guides for briefing on chimpanzees. Enjoy a hike through the forest to spend 1 hour observing taking photos of chimps when they are found. Your time in the rainforest of kibale is an opportunity to spot other primates like red colobus monkey, black and white colous monkey, and grey cheeked mangabay. Return to your lodge for lunch and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park arriving in time for check in, dinner and overnight. You may relax by the poolside.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon Launch cruise
Early morning at 06:30am, you will go for a game drive with your guide exploring Queen Elizabeth national park home to elephants, buffaloes, lion and antelopes such as Uganda, kob, topi, and bushbuck and over 600 species of birds. After encountering the wildlife you will return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter transfer to Mweya reaching on time for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This tropical water channel connecting lakes George and Edward is a great place to see hippos, Nile crocodiles, water birds. After the boat, check in for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, you will embark on another short game drive as you transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha wilderness( if the road is passable) hoping to spot tree climbing lions.

Day 7: Gorilla tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Breakfast is followed by a 30 minutes briefing at the park visitor center. Visitors are divided into small groups (usually of 8 people only) each led by Uganda wildlife authority guide and armed rangers. The favorite time includes spending 1 hour with a gorilla family and guides help you to know how they feed and live. A walk in the forest in search of gorillas reveals wonders of their natural habitat including birds, plants, and primates. After gorilla trekking you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in time to begin your boat ride filled with beautiful views of the lake. Visit several islands learning their history as your guide shows you otters, birds. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Departure

General Information
Entry Requirements:
All visitors to Uganda and Rwanda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler. To move between Uganda and Rwanda, we recommend that you acquire an East African Tourist Visa and this can be got from your first country of arrival
Language:
Luganda, English
Voltage:
In Uganda the standard voltage is 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs.
Currency:
Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort. Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country. Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
Clothing:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
Baggage:
Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
Water:
You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
Health;
East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions. Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs. Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray
Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.
