Day 1: Arrival, Kampala City Tour and overnight

Day 2:Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive.

Day 3-11: Volunteer work in Uganda

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 13: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Day 14: Canoeing and transfer to Kigali or Entebbe for your outbound flight.

Detailed  itinerary  for a Gorilla Volunteer Safari in Uganda

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel

On Arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala city. If you arrive in the morning hours you will have an afternoon Kampala City tour that will see you visiting places like the Uganda Museum, Kasubi tombs, Vegetable markets, Owino Market, Rubaga hill, Namirembe Hill, the Kings Lake, the museum of Buganda Kingdom, Bahai Temple, Gaddafi Mosque, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine and  experience local foods especially the Rolex all based on your desired activity and experience.

Day 2: Transfer Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive.

Today you will wake up to an early breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park  for an awesome adventure experience. Along the way, you will have a stop at the Ugandan Equator where you will get an opportunity to take photos as you continue to Lake Mburo national park arriving in time for a game drive together with your packed lunch.

In the afternoon, you will set out for an exciting boat cruise on Lake Mburo and during the boat cruise you will get an opportunity of seeing aquatic birds and hippopotamus together with the African crocodile all habiting the waters of lake Mburo. Later in the evening you will go for another game drive and then say good bye to the park. You will have dinner and overnight at your agreed Lodge.

Day 3-11: Volunteer work in Uganda

Starting today, you will involve yourself in different volunteering programs and projects aimed at improving on healthcare, education, environment conservation practices, games and sports for youth and children, music, dance and drama for children and youth, improving the standards of living, building community schools, or helping youth with their ventures and so many other initiatives aimed at improving the communities in need. Feel free to choose which project you wish to involve yourself in and we believe that no matter which project you chose to volunteer in , you will have played an important role and your efforts will be greatly appreciated.

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today you will start your 3 days gorilla trekking safari by transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which covers an area of 321 sq km and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years. Be ready to take fascinating pictures along the way especially at Equator Monument an  d the beautiful landscapes of Kigezi. You will arrive at your lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today after an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about the Dos and Don’ts of gorilla trekking and then you will be divided into groups and will start the gorilla trekking experience lasting 2 to 8 Hours. You will be able to trek one of the 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups and besides the Gorillas, you will have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, baboons and black and white colobus monkeys among others. This forest is also home to 120 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species, 1000 flowering plants, as well as over 350 species of birds such as the hornbills and the Turacos!

After a successful Gorilla trekking experience, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and overnight after a very hectic day in the forest.

Day 14: Canoeing and transfer to Kigali or Entebbe for your outbound flight.

Today you will wake up to an early morning canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi which will take you to the Zebra Island and the Pygms Island among others. After a positive impact on the people you came across in your volunteering projects and after discovering Uganda and experiencing the local culture you will transfer to Kigali or Entebbe to catch your outbound flight back home.
