This 15 Days Gorilla Trekking, Serengeti Safari and Mafia Island Vacation tour takes you to Uganda, Tanzania and Mafia Island to witness the giants of the forest and the ocean plus the Big 5 animals. Coming face to face with the gorillas deep in their natural forest habitat, swimming next to the goliath whale shark and coming up close with the iconic Big 5 animals are amongst the best wildlife encounters you don’t want to miss.
Your Gorilla Trekking Serengeti Safari and Mafia Island journey begins with trekking in search of mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and it’s from here that you will head over to Tanzania to have an ultimate safari experience in the Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. You will then end this 15 Days Gorillas, Whale Sharks, Safari and beach journey with a beach sojourn in a Mafia Island resort where powder soft sands and crystal-clear water beckon with the promise of utter relaxation and here you will have an opportunity to swim with the whale sharks and do snorkeling among other ocean activities. This tour can be tailored for a couple, a group of friends and can suit families with teens.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to your hotel in Kigali City
Upon arrival, you will meet and greet with Engabi tours and travel representative who will welcome you to Rwanda and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for overnight and dinner. He/ She will also brief you about your upcoming safari activities.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
From your hotel/your place of stay in Kigali, you will be met by your driver who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable national park the home of gorillas in Uganda via Katuna border crossing on an approximately 4 hours road drive. You will arrive at the lodge in time for check in, lunch, dinner and overnight. This journey takes approximately 4 Hours’ including the time you spend at the border.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Today After breakfast you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing and later start your gorilla trek experience at around 8:30 am. Spending 1 hour with mountain gorillas will be a great experience for everyone. After spending a good time with the gorillas you will transfer back to the Lodge for a hot lunch and to freshen up. In the evening you may choose to relax in your Room or visit the local community of the pigmies and later have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Road Transfer to Kigali International Airport and Flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport
After breakfast you will be transferred by road to Kigali City or Kigali International airport depending on the schedule of your flight from where you will catch your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in the late afternoon, you will be transferred to your Hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Tarangire National park
After breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to Tarangire national park with your packed lunch. This endless plains and baobab trees filled park has the largest concentration of 3000 elephants in Tanzania. On arrival at the park, you will start off your game viewing experience and expect to see giraffes, lions and buffaloes among others in addition to the elephants. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National Park and afternoon game drive
After breakfast, leave the Tarangire National park through the Ngorongoro Area driving to Seronera Area where you will notice the landscape changing from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands. Once you reach Serengeti, you will begin a half day game drive with a convenient stop for your picnic lunch. Serengeti national park is home to 3 million animals which is larger than any savannah protected area on earth. Continue to your camp for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Optional Balloon Safari and Full day Serengeti Plains
Today you will head out for an early morning game drive which will start at sunrise to explore the Serengeti plains. Serengeti offers best wildlife viewing opportunities as it is home to 3 million animals, including large prides of lions, herds of elephants, wildebeest, gazelles, buffalo, buffalo, zebras, and a variety of birds like ostrich. You will return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon animals will be more active and continue with your game drive. There’s an option to do a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti.

Day 8: Morning Game Drive in Serengeti and Afternoon to Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today after breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive from where you will transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving in time for lunch and later dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Game Drive in the Crater
After a very quick breakfast, you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor for a game drive. This area is compared to Garden of Eden on earth. The big numbers of wildlife can be spotted in a day including all big five, the elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetahs, and lots of hyenas, hippos, zebra and wildebeest being the most abundant. You will take a break for lunch and in the afternoon, you will continue game viewing in the south corner of the park where you visit Lake Magadi a place you can see flamingos, hippos and other water birds. Return for dinner and overnight

Day 10: Transfer to Arusha Airport and Flight to Mafia Island
After a heavy breakfast, you will transfer to Arusha Airport/Kilimanjaro International Airport arriving in time to catch your flight to Mafia Island. On arrival, you will and meet and greet with a representative from the hotel who will welcome you the island and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy dinner before retiring to bed for a much-needed rest after your long day travelling.

Day 11- Day 13: Full days in Mafia Island
Enjoy your Mafia Island holiday at leisure. Relax on the white sand beach or get engaged in in different ocean adventures including but not limited to swimming with the whale sharks in their natural environment (August-March) and snorkeling & Scuba diving (throughout the year) or visit the Kilindoni town among other activities available on the island.

Day 14: Flight to Dar es Salaam and overnight
After breakfast, you will take your flight to Dar es Salaam for overnight.
