While on this Masai Mara and Gorilla Trekking Safari Holiday, you will arrive in Africa through Kigali International Airport-Rwanda from where you will cross over to Uganda’s Bwindi to trek with the Mountain Gorillas. After gorilla trekking, you will trek with Golden Monkeys in Mgahinga National Park and return to Kigali International Airport from where you will fly to Jomo Kenyatta Airport and transfer to Nairobi. The 8 Days Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Safari Holiday ends in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We recommend that you arrive for the tour via Kigali International Airport because the Road drive time from Kigali to the Gorillas in Bwindi Uganda is approximately 4 Hours compared to the 10 Hours Road Drive from Entebbe/Kampala Uganda to Bwindi.
Note that you can travel between the three countries of Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya using a single visa called the East African Tourist Visa which is valid for 90 Days. This Visa can be got from the first country of arrival at a cost of 100USD Per person.
8 Days Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Safari Holiday Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda or from your hotel in Rwanda, you will be met by your driver from Engabi Tours and Travel who will welcome you to Rwanda and thereafter transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable national park the home of gorillas in Uganda arriving in time for check in, lunch, dinner and later overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking and Pigmies Community experience
Today After breakfast you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing and later start your gorilla trek experience at around 8:30 am. Spending 1 hour with mountain gorillas will be a great experience for everyone. After spending a good time with the gorillas you will transfer back to the Lodge for a Hot lunch and to freshen up. In the evening you may choose to have a massage treat or to visit the local community of the pigmies and later dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will go for another primate experience, this time Golden Monkey tracking experience in the Mgahinga National park and thereafter transfer to Kigali arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon Kigali City tour and later check-in to your hotel in Kigali.

Day 4: Flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
After breakfast you will be transferred to Kigali International airport to catch your flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will transfer to your Hotel in Nairobi for overnight. Today you may choose to visit the Elephant Orphanage or the Giraffe center all in Nairobi

Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today after breakfast, you will be transferred to Masai Mara National Reserve on a 6 hours road drive with stops along the way to take in the beautiful views of the rift valley and at curio shops to catch a cup of coffee/tea or simply to marvel at the many beautiful African crafts that you can purchase. You will arrive in the Masai Mara in time for lunch and later an afternoon game drive in the beautiful plains. You will spot quite a number of animals and learn a bit about the Mara and at sunset you will make your way back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Instead of driving to the Mara, you may choose to take a light aircraft to an Airstrip inside the Mara and we highly recommend this to ensure that you avoid the bumpy road from Narok to Masai Mara.

Day 6: Full Day in the Masai Mara
Today after breakfast, you head out and spend the rest of the day with game drives and activities in the Mara. In between the game drives, a short lunch will follow and then you will continue with game drives as you look out for wildlife and explore the rich landscapes of the Conservancy. You will wind up your evening with a sundowner before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Another Full Day in the Masai Mara
Today you will spend another full day with a picnic lunch exploring the Masai Mara and you will soon realize why this reserve is so highly regarded as the best reserve in Africa. Every year, millions of wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson’s gazelle pound their way across the savannas in an instinctual survival of the fittest. Another big draw card to the Masai Mara is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Return to the lodge in evening for dinner and overnight. You have an option of taking on a Balloon Safari over the Mara plains and visiting the Masai Village.

Day 8: Transfer to Nairobi and Departure at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Nairobi where on arrival you will have lunch and continue to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your onward flight marking the end of the trip.
Instead of driving to Nairobi, you may choose to take a light aircraft to Wilson Airport from where you can be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport(This is highly recommended)
