The Masai Mara, Serengeti and Gorilla Trekking Safari takes you to witness two of Africa’s top wildlife encounters the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda and the Big Five animals in Masai Mara and Tanzania. If you visit between late July and September, this trip also takes you to see the great migration Mara River Crossing in the famous Serengeti National Park and Masai Mara National Park. This Classic African Safari to Masai Mara, Serengeti and Bwindi National Parks will begin in Uganda’s Bwindi via Kigali International Airport-Rwanda then you will head to Tanzania and finally finish it off from Masai Mara in Kenya and it will create a lifetime’s worth of memories for you.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Your Hotel
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will meet and greet with a representative of Engabi Tours and Travel who will welcome you to Africa and transfer you to your lodge in Kigali City for overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you will be picked up from your Hotel by your driver who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas via Katuna Border Crossing arriving in time for lunch at your lodge.
Note that to move between Uganda and Rwanda, you will need to buy an East African Tourist Visa from your first country of Arrival (Rwanda) at a cost of 100USD Per Person

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience
After breakfast at your Lodge, you will be transferred to the gorilla trekking starting point. Here you will be briefed about the gorilla trekking rules while your guide takes care of the practicalities. After briefing you set off into the forest with a specialized guide who leads you to the point where the gorillas are. For one unforgettable hour you are in the area of the mountain Gorillas seeing them in their daily life, with a chance to spot some forest interior birds.
After trekking the gorillas, you will have your packed lunch and you will head back to the starting point where your driver will pick you and take you back to the lodge for refreshing. Later in the evening you will visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a Boat Excursion
Today you will wake lazily, have your breakfast and thereafter transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which is home to 19 islands, several little birds and otters. You will arrive in time for a boat cruise to explore the lake’s islands (Zebras Island, Punishment Island and Pygmies island) and then check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight. In the evening you may decide to stay relaxing at the lake/pool side

Day 5: Flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport-Tanzania
Today after breakfast and depending on the schedule of your flight, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport to catch your outbound flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
On arrival, you will meet with a representative of Engabi Tours and Travel who will transfer you to your place of Accommodation in Arusha where you can relax as you get ready for the upcoming days of the safari. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 6: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred from Arusha to Tarangire National park for a full day game drive. Ranked as the third largest park in Tanzania, the Tarangire is home to a large population of elephant the ancient giant Baobab trees, also known as the “Tree of Life”,
You arrive in time for a full day Game drive, lunch and later check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a Full Day Game Drive in the Crater
After an early breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving in time for a game drive in the crater. You will descend down into the Ngorongoro Crater Rim for a game drive in the world’s largest unbroken Caldera where thousands of animals live. Here you will be able to see all the Big Five animals. Enjoy your Picnic lunch at the hippo pool and continue with the drive as you exit or ascend out of the crater for your transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Serengeti National Park and Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, you will begin your drive to the Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and with stops for photography and lunch arriving in time for a game drive where you must look forward to witnessing large prides of lions, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and antelope as well as various species of birdlife and indigenous trees. Later in the evening you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
After a very early breakfast, you will go out for a full day game in the plains. If you are interested in viewing the Mara river migration crossing of July- October, today you will start your journey to the kogatende area (North of Serengeti) with an en-route game drive in the Seronera Area. On arrival in the North, you will continue with a game drive with prospects of witnessing the Wildebeest Migration Mara River Crossing and then enjoy your picnic lunch. After lunch you will continue with the game drive and later retire to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Full Day Game Drive in the Serengeti Plains
Today is without question one of the highlights of your safari. After a rich breakfast you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual and head to the park to start your full day game drive (If you traveling between late July to October and you are interested in the migration crossing, you will be in the North of Serengeti and you will head straight to the Mara River to witness the great migration Mara River Crossing). Today’s full day game drive will help you experience the Serengeti in its full glory! The Mara River is the last major obstacle standing between the Wildebeest Migration and the relative safety of the Masai Mara. If you’re patient and a little lucky, you will get to witness the death-defying crossing itself where wildebeest and zebras brave the river’s currents and crocodiles in an attempt to reach safety on the opposite bank. After witnessing the crossing, you will continue with the game drive in the rest of the area and retire to your camp for Dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Masai Mara Via Isibania Border Point
After an early breakfast, you will embark on an approximately 6 Hours bumpy road drive to the Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya one of the most famous ecosystems in the world via the Isibania Border crossing and Oloololo Gate or Musiara Gate. This vast grassland is teeming with life; plains, game including wildebeest, gazelle, topi, zebra and buffalo abound in the rolling savannah and never far away lay the predators such as cheetah, lion and hyena. You will have an en-route game drive to the lodge and by the end of today we hope that you will have learnt a huge amount of knowledge about Masai Mara’s resident wildlife. Dinner and Overnight at your lodge. We highly recommend that you take a small Air Craft Flight from the Nearest Serengeti Airstrip to Serena Airstrip or to the nearest Airstrip to your Mara accommodation if you prefer a different one from our proposed lodge to Avoid the long bumpy road drives.

Day 12: Full day Maasai Mara Game Drive
Today you will have a full day game drive in the Masai Mara to increase your chances of encountering many of the wildlife species found in the reserve. You will later find a quiet spot inside the park to enjoy your lunch by the vehicle as you look out across the plains. If you are travelling during the Month of July, August or September up to even October, you will have an opportunity to see the continuation of the Serengeti wildebeest Mara River Crossing at the border of Kenya and Tanzania which is approximately 1 Hour from your lodge. There is also an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari in time for sunrise.

Day 13: Transfer to Nairobi ( We highly recommend that you fly from Masai Mara to Wilson Airport in Nairobi to avoid very bumpy road from Mara to Narok and the heavy traffic in the Rift Valley Area)
Today after breakfast and depending on the schedule of your outbound flight, you will transfer to Nairobi with a stop in Narok Town for lunch. After lunch you will continue to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport arriving in time for check-in marking the end of your trip.
(We highly recommend that you fly from Masai Mara to Wilson Airport in Nairobi from where you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This is to avoid the very bumpy road from Masai Mara to Narok and the heavy traffic in the Rift Valley Area)
